Friday is the busiest club night of the area. In Düsseldorf the Schachverein 1854 plays in Niederkassel from half past seven after its youth groups, and the chess group of the university sports service meets in a seminar room of the Heinrich-Heine-Universität from six to nine, open to beginners and advanced players. Close by, the Schachverein 1922 Hilden starts at seven, and the SG Kaarst plays in the adult-education building from seven.

Krefelder SK Turm 1851 plays at the chess centre on the Johansenaue, the Mönchengladbacher Schachverein 1878 on the Aachener Straße, and the SG Nettetal in the Parkstübchen in Hinsbeck. Solingen has the SC Solingen 1928 from a quarter to seven, Wuppertal the Vohwinkel youth house, the Vonkeln clubhouse and the Bahn-Schachclub, and Witzhelden and Bergisch Gladbach play on Fridays too.
