Privacy and reader data
What the form sends
The form sends what you enter: your name, one way to reach you and the message, that is the place, the change, the page that shows it and your connection to the place. The address and language of the page you sent it from travel with it. A hidden field that no person sees is there to catch spam robots.
What notes are used for
A form service holds the notes until the next revision reads them. They serve one purpose: to check what they report and to apply it. Nobody is contacted unless a note asks for an answer and gives a contact. Names and contacts are not shown on the site, not sold and not handed to the club, school or organiser; the update history records the change, never the sender.
Counting visits without cookies
Düsseldorf Chess sets no cookies. A short script from the site’s own domain counts page views; it stores nothing in the browser and does not follow anyone onto other sites. Each view records the page, the referring page, the browser, the kind of device and the country derived from the request, and only totals are read.
No outside content
No advertising, social buttons or outside trackers are loaded, and fonts, maps and images all come from the site itself. Links to sources and maps open other sites, which follow their own privacy rules. The hosting provider handles technical data such as IP addresses only as far as delivering the pages requires.
Your rights under the GDPR
To correct or delete a note you sent, send a new one through the form with the same name and contact and say what you want; it is done at the next revision, and you get an answer only if you ask for one and leave a contact. You may also complain to a data protection authority, which for North Rhine-Westphalia is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
